R.I.P. Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen was one of my favorite designers. I have never owned any of his wonderful creations, but I hope to someday. He was a beautiful artist. I had to write a research paper the other day for school & I wanted to write about McQueen, so I did some research. Here it is!

KEEP CALM and ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

“Clothes & jewelry should be startling, individual. When you see a women in my clothes, you want to know more about them.” –Alexander Mcqueen
Alexander Mcqueen was a very unique high fashion designer. He was never afraid of doing something different. Mcqueen affected the fashion industry dramatically.

Alexander Mcqueen was born in the year of 1969 in London, he destined for a career in high fashion. By the time he was sixteen, he had decided to devote himself entirely to fashion. He started in tailoring, for the experience. Later on he started his very own women's clothing business. A few years later he was hired to be the head designer of the Louis Vuitton Givenchy fashion line. In 2006 Mcqueen’s fashion lines had become popular.

“I get my ideas out of dreams. If you’re lucky enough to use something you see in a dream, it is purely original. It’s not in the world it’s in your head.” –Alexander Mcqueen. Alexander was a very unusual designer from the rest. He never cloned others work. He got his inspiration from nature & the beauty around him. He designed the black & off white peacock dress that is pure gorgeous, it has so much texture & detail.

His cutting-edge couture blew people away. People such as Lady Gaga, Rachel Zoe, Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker, Tyra Banks, Anna Wintour, Madonna & many more. They all believe he was a brilliant designer as do I. He made me believe that fashion is an art & not just a style. “Every single inspired, original, lofty, whimsical, stunning, brilliant and jaw dropping detail was Alexander Mcqueen. There has never been anyone like him. And there simply never will be.” –Sarah Jessica Parker

Mcqueen effected the fashion industry majorly. He made skull prints & low slung jeans a huge trend in fashion. He was never afraid to do the don’ts. His theatrical catwalk shows brought his designs to life. With butterflies, wigs wings covered in feathers, the highest heels you could imagine & even a catwalk filled with water. He even added new technology to his shows. One of his shows he had a holographic 3D image of the amazing model Kate Moss on to the runway.

Alexander Mcqueen was a truly talented, diverse, exocentric designer. He was more like an artist, but instead of putting his work on a canvas he put his dreams on the runway. I am sincerely sad that he is no longer apart of this world. But his work will always be remembered & remired. Now that he is gone the world is a little more plain, he added something to this world. He has inspired me to dare-to-wear & not care what other people think.

Rest In Peace
