Ditch the hair tie!

I was just scrolling through Tumblr as usual & I came across this picture of a bun tied up with a belt. I've used skinny belts at bracelets before & I really like the look of it. But I never thought of using it as a hair accessory. Just put your hair up in a bun as usual & then wrap any skinny belt around it. Then you have a fun & chic up-do.

Pretty in Pink Makeup

Spring is basically here, so I have been ditching the bronzer for blush! I really like the look of blush lately, I remember I used to dislike blush. I thought it made you look like a clown[that's only if you put it directly on your cheeks]. I'm now doing my blush on my cheek bones & carrying it onto my temples. It makes your face look fresh & in season. I really wanna just wear foundation[or tinted moisturizer], powder, concealer & a gorgeous blush this spring/summer. I might ditch the eye makeup, it'll just melt of anyway in the hot sun, so what's really the point? I might even hold off on the nude lips until fall/winter approaches. Here's this lovely picture that inspired this blog post!

                                          Keep it pink & pretty!

Double Finger Cross Ring

Lately I've been seeing the double finger cross rings on Tumblr & they are just gorgeous. I HAD TO GET ONE. So I bought a black double cross ring, I want a metal silver one. But I am just in love with my black one. I think these rings are gonna make a trend this spring/summer with high waisted shorts & floral shirts & maybe some Doc Martens. I'm actually excited for summer for once, I really don't know why I never really liked it. I guess the trends are better!

FLORALS!

As I was flipping threw January 2011's issue of Nylon with Mila Kunis on the cover, I spot the word winter I think to myself winter's almost over I look up & yap FLORALS! As I keep flipping threw, I find The Secret Garden on page 106, I flip to the next page & see floral bikinis,

then page 110 floral jumpsuits,
 113 floral dresses.
I love that I can look & find. I know who the piece is made by & how much $. It's like shopping for floral pieces with out wasting the time looking online or going out to shop. Lately I have had an obsession with florals, I think it's gonna be my go-to of spring/summer 2011. From floral rompers to bikinis to dress to light weight scarves florals are a favorite. But not just any floral pattern. I’m very picky. But I do like a lot of different florals. They just scream summer!

Did you get those at a costume shop?

I love the cat eye makeup! But I am in love with cat eye shades. These babies will get you some attention. Not that I'm looking for attention, but I just LOVE 'em. People think I'm crazy. Well I am. But I know not that many people would be confident wearing crazy sunnies. I remember a few months ago I was looking around at Buffalo Exchange & I saw a god pair of cat eye sunglasses & thought to my self who would wear these? well I would! I sadly didn't buy them, the were a great vintage find. But you live & you learn.  I recently purchased a black pair at Forever 21 for $4.80. I love them! I am craving them in gold!

Black Swan

On a snowy cold day, my 15th birthday[February 5th], I saw Black Swan. One word. Brilliant. I LOVED IT. I wanna see it again & again & again! I am a very artsy person & I love horror/thriller type movies so this film was perfect! I completely understood the story & everything that was going on. I went to see it with a friend & we got the theatre to our selves. So of course we laughed 10 times lauder[BTW I will laugh at basically anything that really isn't supposed to be funny] & jumped up & danced at the club scene. I adore ballet, there is just something about it, the art, the gorgeous dancing, the music, the theatre. I used to do ballet years ago at this old church with victorian wood floors & big cry chandlers! But I could never do ballet again, so much work & I love my booty too much to loose it. Portman & Kunis, did excellent. PLUS Mila Kunis dated my beloved Macaulay Culkin. MILA KUNIS Y U NO MORE WITH MACAULAY CULKIN?! Anyway I suggest seeing this lovely film!

R.I.P. Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen was one of my favorite designers. I have never owned any of his wonderful creations, but I hope to someday. He was a beautiful artist. I had to write a research paper the other day for school & I wanted to write about McQueen, so I did some research. Here it is!

KEEP CALM and ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
Sorsha

“Clothes & jewelry should be startling, individual. When you see a women in my clothes, you want to know more about them.” –Alexander Mcqueen
Alexander Mcqueen was a very unique high fashion designer. He was never afraid of doing something different. Mcqueen affected the fashion industry dramatically.

Alexander Mcqueen was born in the year of 1969 in London, he destined for a career in high fashion. By the time he was sixteen, he had decided to devote himself entirely to fashion. He started in tailoring, for the experience. Later on he started his very own women's clothing business. A few years later he was hired to be the head designer of the Louis Vuitton Givenchy fashion line. In 2006 Mcqueen’s fashion lines had become popular.

“I get my ideas out of dreams. If you’re lucky enough to use something you see in a dream, it is purely original. It’s not in the world it’s in your head.” –Alexander Mcqueen. Alexander was a very unusual designer from the rest. He never cloned others work. He got his inspiration from nature & the beauty around him. He designed the black & off white peacock dress that is pure gorgeous, it has so much texture & detail.

His cutting-edge couture blew people away. People such as Lady Gaga, Rachel Zoe, Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker, Tyra Banks, Anna Wintour, Madonna & many more. They all believe he was a brilliant designer as do I. He made me believe that fashion is an art & not just a style. “Every single inspired, original, lofty, whimsical, stunning, brilliant and jaw dropping detail was Alexander Mcqueen. There has never been anyone like him. And there simply never will be.” –Sarah Jessica Parker

Mcqueen effected the fashion industry majorly. He made skull prints & low slung jeans a huge trend in fashion. He was never afraid to do the don’ts. His theatrical catwalk shows brought his designs to life. With butterflies, wigs wings covered in feathers, the highest heels you could imagine & even a catwalk filled with water. He even added new technology to his shows. One of his shows he had a holographic 3D image of the amazing model Kate Moss on to the runway.

Alexander Mcqueen was a truly talented, diverse, exocentric designer. He was more like an artist, but instead of putting his work on a canvas he put his dreams on the runway. I am sincerely sad that he is no longer apart of this world. But his work will always be remembered & remired. Now that he is gone the world is a little more plain, he added something to this world. He has inspired me to dare-to-wear & not care what other people think.

Rest In Peace
